Written Summary:

In this video, Miquel Ibarra provides the viewer an excellent demonstration of the techniques required for black belt in the art of aikijujitsu. Like other videos in this series, the production quality is excellent. But that's no real surprise coming from Panther. Based on what we've seen so far, their production quality is always "top notch". It seemed there were more camera angles on this particular video than on the others in this series. The greater number of camera angles allows the viewer a much better look at the techniques. This is very important because the techniques on this video range from slightly more difficult, to considerably more difficult, when compared to the previous video in this series. There are more subtle moves involved in doing some of these techniques, that if not captured from multiple angles, like Panther did, might leave the viewer "scratching their head". Some moves were shown on previous tapes, but with different applications, and there were quite a few techniques shown for the first time in this series. Miguel Ibarra really shines on this video. I was particularly impressed with his footwork and the graceful way he applies these difficult techniques. He could definitely leave a beginning student with the impression, "Mastering this will be easy", but those who have practiced these arts will know better.

As before, my only criticism of this video is the large number of repetitions shown. Also, the complexity of some of these techniques might render them somewhat inapplicable in a street situation to all but the most skilled martial artist. As with all Panther tapes, the number of repetitions for each technique is ridiculous. I really do not have to see a technique 15 different times, thank you.

Without a doubt, this video is made for martial artists who have been studying the arts for awhile. Experienced martial artists, who know how difficult some of these techniques can be, will probably appreciate Mr. Ibarra's skill level over those less experienced. Overall, this is a very interesting video to watch and might be worth a look by anyone interested in aikijujitsu.
